Feature Requests: suggest features, report bugs and vote

Use the Feature Requests page to shape what Lancer builds next.

Written by Ivan Nedelkovski

Short answer

Open Feature Requests in the left sidebar (above Product Updates) to suggest a feature, report a bug and vote on what other Lancer users asked for. The Lancer team answers every ticket and moves it through Under review → Planned → In progress → Shipped.

Post a ticket

  • Click New ticket and choose Feature request or Bug report.

  • Add a subject and the details (up to 10,000 characters), and pick the Area it belongs to.

  • Add screenshots by pasting, dropping or attaching them: up to 6 per ticket, 10 MB each. Remove one with its x.

  • While you type the subject, similar tickets show up under "Already asked? Upvote it instead and it climbs faster." Upvote an existing one rather than posting a duplicate.

Your ticket is signed with the Upwork first name, last initial (for example "Eric D.") and photo of one of your workspace's Upwork accounts. Use the Posting as menu at the bottom of the New ticket window to choose which one: it lists every Upwork account of your workspace that has a name (connected accounts first, in the order you connected them), with Anonymous last. The first one is the default. If no account is connected, your organization name is used instead. Choose Anonymous to hide who you are: the board then shows "Anonymous" with a person icon and no photo. The Lancer team still sees which workspace posted it. Your own anonymous tickets still show as yours to you. Posting is limited to 10 tickets per workspace per day.

If you add screenshots, the image links can still point to your workspace, so skip screenshots if you need to stay fully anonymous.

Vote and follow tickets

  • Each workspace has one vote per ticket. You can upvote, downvote, or click again to clear your vote.

  • Search the board, filter by All, Under review, Planned, In progress, Shipped or Yours, switch between Features and Bugs, and sort by Top or New.

  • Click a ticket to open it in full, including screenshots and the Lancer team reply. The team can follow up with a second reply (for example to say it shipped); the board shows both, the earlier one above the latest.

  • A ticket the team decides not to build is marked Not planned.

Emails you get

  • A reply to your ticket: when the Lancer team replies to a ticket you posted, you get an email with the reply (subject "Ivan replied: <your ticket>"). If the team follows up with a second reply before the ticket ships, you get that one too. Edits to a reply don't send another email.

  • Shipped: when a ticket is marked Shipped and has a reply saying what was done, the person who posted it and everyone who upvoted it get a "Shipped: <ticket>" email. Downvotes don't get it.

  • A reply and Shipped saved at the same time send only the Shipped email, and each person gets each email once per ticket.

The emails go to the email address of the Lancer user who posted or voted.

Who can do what

  • Everyone in your workspace can read the board.

  • Posting, uploading screenshots and voting need an active subscription.

  • Your workspace can remove its own tickets.

For problems with your own account (a bid that didn't send, billing), contact support instead: tickets on this board are public to other Lancer users.
