Short answer
The September Peak Season offer (live now through September 13 — extended by popular demand from the original September 8 close, open to new and returning customers) is a one-time way to get the full Lancer product at season pricing instead of the usual $299/quarter. It's sold as one ticket built from four items — client conversations, Upwork accounts, done-for-you setup, and profile optimization — each priced at list minus a season discount. There's no separate "pass" line: $89 is simply the default ticket (10 conversations + 1 account). Add more of any item, or none. Buy it at lancer.app/september-offer — or, if you sign up or log in at app.lancer.app with a workspace that isn't on a paid plan, it's simply what the paywall opens on. Either way, finish setting up your account on the claim page after payment.
Building your ticket
Every item on the ticket has its own quantity control, and the total is just the sum of the rows:
Client conversations started — 10 included by default, in steps of 10 up to 100. $6 each at season pricing (70% off the regular $19 pay-as-you-go price). A conversation is a client replying to a proposal Lancer sent for you; proposals themselves are unlimited and free, and job invitations, DMs, and proposals you send manually never count. Conversations bought with the pass stay in your quota until the season ends — go past it and extra replies bill at the regular $19 each.
Upwork accounts — 1 included by default, up to 4 total (3 extra). $29 for the whole season per extra account (50% off the regular $59/month), instead of billing monthly. Each connected account runs its own campaigns, proposals, and inbox under the same Lancer dashboard.
Done-for-you setup — $149 per account (50% off the regular $299), capped at the number of accounts on your ticket. Our team configures your account for you: knowledge base, campaigns and filters, and cover-letter templates.
Profile optimization — $499 per account (50% off the regular $999), capped at the number of accounts on your ticket. We rewrite your Upwork profile — title, overview, skills, portfolio — so you rank higher and get more direct invitations. Invitations never count as conversations.
$89 (10 conversations + 1 account) is the default and cheapest ticket. Turn the dials on the page to add more conversations, extra accounts, or the done-for-you and profile services — the total updates live.
How long the season lasts
The pass runs for 90 days from the day you buy it — the checkout page shows your exact dates (e.g. today → today + 3 months). It isn't a fixed calendar window shared by every buyer; it starts when your payment goes through.
Once the offer window itself closes
The September 13 date isn't just a label — the site closes the offer on its own the moment it passes, with nothing for anyone to deploy or remove by hand. From that instant, lancer.app/september-offer stops selling: the page switches to a "Season Pass is closed" view with a link to the regular plans and a book-a-demo option, in place of the pass builder. The countdown banner disappears from every page of lancer.app, and the September Offer link in the site nav goes back to being Hiring. Checkout stops accepting season-priced orders at the very same moment — the marketing pages and checkout were always meant to agree, this just makes sure they do without a manual step.
None of this touches a pass you already bought — see What happens after the season below for how your own pass winds down.
The purchase dialog
Clicking Purchase Pass (or the hero's Get Started) opens a dialog before checkout that confirms your conversations count and shows a rough win estimate — based on Lancer-wide data, roughly 12% of conversations turn into a project for the average user, and 20% for top performers. This is a projection, not a guarantee. From there it asks for your email and takes you to Stripe.
Who this is for, and buying as a guest
The offer is open to anyone not currently on a paid Lancer plan — brand-new customers, and past customers coming back for the season. You don't need a Lancer account to buy — checkout only asks for your email and your cart.
If you have an active, past-due, paused, or trialing subscription, checkout will block the purchase with a message to log in and manage your plan from Settings → Billing instead — the offer isn't a way to discount a plan you're already paying for. A cancelled or fully churned subscription doesn't count against you.
Buying from inside the Lancer app
Sign up or log in at app.lancer.app with a workspace that isn't on a paid plan, and the paywall opens on this same Season Pass ticket instead of the regular plans — it's shown whenever the offer is open and your workspace's subscription is none, cancelled, or archived. Workspaces that are active, paused, past-due, or trialing go straight to the regular plans, since the offer isn't a way to discount a plan you're already paying for.
Your email is filled in automatically from your signed-in account and can't be edited; everything else works the same as buying as a guest — the same Stripe checkout, and the same claim page to activate your ticket afterwards.
A Looking for the regular plans? link at the bottom of the ticket switches to the Pay-Per-Lead / Unlimited plans; a Back to the Season Pass link switches back. Switching resets the ticket to its default (10 conversations + 1 account) if you come back to it.
After you pay: claiming your account
Payment takes you to a claim page that finishes setting things up. What it asks for depends on whether you've had a Lancer account before:
New customers fill in name, workspace name, and a password. Submitting that form creates the account and automatically activates everything on your ticket.
Returning customers — the claim page recognizes the email from checkout and asks you to sign in instead of registering. Once you're signed in, your ticket activates on the right workspace; if you belong to more than one, you'll be asked which one should get it. Forgot your password? There's a reset link right on the claim page — no need to leave it.
If your ticket is conversations and/or accounts only, you're taken straight into the Lancer dashboard.
If your ticket includes done-for-you setup or profile optimization, you're sent to an onboarding form first so our team can collect what they need to set things up for you.
If something looks wrong on the claim page (payment not showing as complete, a snag activating your ticket, or the purchase already claimed), the page will tell you what to do — including emailing [email protected] if you get stuck.
What happens after the season
Your pass runs for the full 90 days from purchase. After that it renews at the standard quarterly price ($299) unless you cancel — two clicks, anytime before renewal, from Settings → Billing. Any unused season perks (extra conversations, extra accounts) expire when the season ends and don't carry over.
Is this within Upwork's rules?
Yes — Lancer sends tailored, high-quality proposals based on your profile and preferences rather than mass-applying, which is what Upwork's terms prohibit. This is the same product and the same safety approach used outside the promo, not something special to Peak Season.
