Refund policy: does Lancer offer refunds?

No. Every payment to Lancer is final and non-refundable. Cancel anytime to stop future charges; you keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Short answer

Lancer doesn't offer refunds. Every payment is final: there are no full, partial or prorated refunds, and no money-back guarantee. That includes renewals you forgot to cancel, time left on your plan after you cancel, and leads or perks you didn't use.

You can cancel anytime to stop future charges, and you keep full access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

What the policy covers

It applies to every payment made to Lancer:

  • Subscriptions — Pay-Per-Lead and Unlimited, monthly or quarterly, including automatic renewals.

  • Upgrades — the prorated charge when you move to a higher plan partway through a cycle.

  • Overage — the $19 charged for each extra lead beyond your plan's included amount.

  • Season Pass tickets and everything on them — conversations, extra accounts, done-for-you setup and profile optimization.

  • Add-ons and top-ups — extra accounts, prepaid extra conversations and any other one-time purchase.

It's the same rule as in our Terms of Service (section 4, Fees and Subscriptions): all fees are non-refundable.

Common situations

Forgot to cancel before your renewal?

Renewal charges aren't refunded. Cancel now in Settings → Billing and you won't be charged again. You've paid for this period, so you keep full access, and your campaigns keep running, until it ends.

Cancelled partway through a billing period?

Cancelling stops your next charge. It doesn't refund the current one, in full or in part. You keep access until your end date, which is shown in Settings → Billing.

On a quarterly plan and want to stop early?

Quarterly billing is a 3-month commitment paid upfront — that's where the lower monthly price comes from. You can cancel anytime so it doesn't renew, but the remaining months aren't refunded. You keep access until the quarter ends.

Downgraded or switched plans?

Downgrades take effect at your next renewal and you keep your current plan until then, so there's no refund or credit for the difference. Upgrades are charged right away (prorated), and that charge is final too.

Didn't use Lancer, or didn't get the results you wanted?

Payments aren't refunded based on usage or results. If your campaigns aren't sending proposals or getting replies, message us in the chat and we'll help you troubleshoot. Why didn't my bid send? and Why didn't Lancer apply to this job? are good places to start. To stop spending, pause your campaigns or cancel before your next renewal.

Have unused leads, conversations or perks?

Unused amounts aren't refunded or turned into credit. Your plan's included leads reset at each renewal, Season Pass perks expire when your season ends, and extra conversations stay available until their own expiry date.

Not sure yet? Do this before you pay

  • Book a demo to see how Lancer would work for your profile and niche before you buy: lancer.app/book-demo.

  • Start on monthly billing. It's a smaller first payment than the 3-month commitment, and you can move to quarterly later in Settings → Billing → Change plan.

  • Check what's included. Lancer plans & pricing explains what counts as a lead and how overage works.

How to stop future charges

Open Settings → Billing and click Cancel. It takes effect at the end of your current billing period: no further charges, nothing deleted, and you can undo it anytime before the end date. Want a break instead? Pause your campaigns yourself, or message us to pause billing. Full steps: How to cancel, pause, or downgrade your Lancer subscription.

Upwork Connects are separate

Connects are bought from and billed by Upwork, not Lancer, so Lancer can't refund them. Upwork does return some Connects on its own, for example when your boost is outbid or a job is cancelled. See Boosting and Connects refunds.

Think you were charged by mistake?

A billing error, such as the same invoice being charged twice, is different from a refund request. Message us in the chat with the email on your account and the invoice in question, and we'll look into it. All your invoices are in Settings → Billing → Manage in Stripe.
